Government and Community Relations serves as a liaison between the college and its neighbors-residents, business and civic organizations, and local governmental agencies in the city of Boston. The office represents the college in several community organizations and activities whose mission is closely aligned with that of the college. These include the Mission Hill Problem Property Task Force, the Wentworth Institute of Technology Community Task Force, the Fenway Alliance, and MASCO.

The office supports community programs and initiatives that advance the interests of both the college and the community through donations of in-kind services, volunteerism, and assisting and co-hosting various community events.

Government and Community Relations:

• Works with community-based organizations to enhance access to Massachusetts College of Art and Design as an educational institution and as an informational resource
• Forges a closer working relationship between campus leaders and local and regional community groups in addressing a myriad of social, economic, education, and environmental issues.
• Fosters partnerships and identifies areas of collaboration with a wide variety of community organizations.
• Highlights issues of emerging or growing concern in the city of Boston for college administrators.
