5/14/2021 - Mask Requirement Remains, Fall 2021 Vaccine Requirement, After May 22 Final Spring Testing Hours

Dear MassArt Community,

Now that we’re in the semester’s home stretch, I’m writing with some final guidance to help you stay safe and healthy.

  • On-Campus Masks Still Required

  • Student Vaccine Requirement

  • Campus Testing Site Hours

  • COF Vaccine Information Session

On-Campus Masks Still Required

While the CDC announced yesterday that fully-vaccinated individuals do not need to wear a mask, in Massachusetts the mask requirement still stands. Everyone is still required to wear a mask on the MassArt campus. Wearing a mask is still a very effective and important tool to keep yourself and others safe, and getting vaccinated is the #1 most effective and important tool!

Student Vaccination Requirement

As announced last month, COVID-19 vaccines will be required for all students starting in the Fall. Get your vaccine now!   You can get your first dose here in Boston and your second dose in another location as long as it’s the same kind of vaccine (i.e., 2 Moderna doses or 2 Pfizer doses). If you have questions or need help finding an appointment, just reach out to our team at and we’ll be happy to help.

Important notes:

  • ALL students are welcome and encouraged to test before going home for the summer, regardless of your usual testing frequency.

  • You should receive your first dose by July 1 at the latest to be fully-vaccinated in time to return for the Fall semester.

  • Please submit your vaccination record here (also in CoVerified under Info).

We will continue updating information about the vaccination requirement on the Wiki and on the website

COVID Fall Planning Survey & Employee Vaccination

(For employees only) Please remember to take the COVID Fall Planning Survey by Friday May 21st.

It is anonymous, voluntary and should take you less than 3 minutes to complete.

It is strongly encouraged that all employees get vaccinated. If you have questions or need help finding an appointment, just reach out to our team at and we’d be happy to help. We will continue to communicate updates through email and on the Wiki

Please submit your vaccination record here (also in CoVerified under Info) as soon as you are fully vaccinated.

Campus Testing Site Hours

Next week, May 17-22, will be the last week of the campus testing site for the spring semester. Please use the CoVerified app to check site hours and book your appointment. The testing site will then close for the summer in its current capacity. Testing details for essential staff who will remain on campus through the summer will be communicated soon.

COF Vaccine Info Session & Town Hall

Thursday May 20, 2021    12:00-1:00PM

The Colleges of the Fenway are pleased to host a vaccine information session for all COF students, admitted students, families, staff, and faculty members. Hosts for this event include campus COVID response and recovery operational leaders, student health leaders, medical and public health experts, and COF pandemic task force co-chairs.

Thank you for the tremendous and persistent efforts you have made all academic year to protect yourselves and our whole community during this challenging year. We will be in touch with updates on any future changes.

As always, please contact the COVID Operations Team at with questions or concerns. We will be operating throughout the summer and here for any support you may need.

Take care, and have a healthy and happy summer!
