This page describes resources for remote instruction that students, faculty and staff may be able to use free of charge, or at a discount.


Many vendors provide free discounted services, tools, applications, hardware and equipment to students, faculty and staff. These resources may be invaluable because of the impact of the 2020 Coronavirus/COVID19 pandemic on teaching and learning and working at the College. Thanks to our many MassArt colleagues who've contributed to this list. Some of these are living documents and will evolve and change over time as new information emerges and other resources become available - please bookmark the page and visit it regularly to see what's new. There may also be some overlap and/or duplication of information - we thought it was important to share these resources ASAP and will work to refine it as we move along.

Announcement regarding free access to Adobe Creative Cloud applicationsThe College has applied to allow members of our community to access Adobe's Creative Cloud Tools for free. Adobe has indicated they will provide more information on/around March 20th, 2020.

Many cable and internet providers are offering free or discounted internet service for those impacted by Coronavirus/COVID-19. Users may be required to go through an application process:

AutoDesk free software for students and educatorsAutodesk provides open access to more than 100 products – available to students, educators, and institutions globally. This includes free access to educational licenses for tools like AutoCAD, Revit, 3DS Max, and Maya.

Vital Source free access to etexts through May 25, 2020"VitalSource Helps is a program designed to support students who may have lost access to course materials due to a campus moving to distance-learning to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This program is made possible by the leading publishers and resellers in US higher education. The program offers free access to an expansive catalog of etexts thorough May 25, 2020, to students and instructors at impacted 2 and 4-year non-profit institutions in the US."
